What is Swiss Knife?
A set of free calculators for people who live in Switzerland or plan to move here, especially from Italy, Germany and France: net salary, income tax in every municipality, pillar 3a, health insurance, renting or buying a home, cross-border work, public transport passes and car costs. It is made in Switzerland by Marco Visin.
Where do the numbers come from?
From official sources: income tax 2026 from the calculator of the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (ESTV), health insurance premiums 2027 from the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG), social insurance rates from the Federal Social Insurance Office (BSV), customs rules from the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG) and prices from SBB. Each tool lists its sources and assumptions.
Is my data private?
Yes. All calculations run in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere. Your values are kept only in your browser, so the tool remembers them next time. “Reset values” clears them.
